I just borrowed a CD from a friend, it's an English import called "Heading Back to Houston". The first song on it is called "No Shoes Boogie" by Charlie Harris and according to the liner notes, it's Herb Remington on steel. Amazing is all I got to say!! There's a bunch of cool stuff on here I going to try to steal but I going to work on this one (probably for the next 2 weeks ! first. If you can find this, get it!!

There are abunch of great reissues from that era compiled by Kevin Coffey - all on the Krazy Kat label. Three knockouts are 'Lone Star Stomp' (KKCD23) ; 'Jitterbug Jive' (KKCD19) & "Diggin'(KKCD24)"

They're worth picking up just for the band names. The 'Diggin' disk has a cut from Dickie McBride & his Ranch Hands - also featuring Herb Remington.

By the way - the liner notes and personnel listings on all the tracks are are the best I've ever seen.!

Yea it is the Krazy Kat label. I'm glad to see other people have found this stuff, there's a lot of great playing on here. It's stuff I never heard of til my buddy turned me on to it, though I think my brother has some of the Freedom (that's the original label this stuff is from) blues and R&B stuff. I'll have to ask him.

Oh, and the liner notes are great - a whole booklet on the label history and each act. 24 pages! Someone put some work into this.
