Joe,
I am wondering about something you said on the forum;

quote:
Bob H. when you get your 30+ years in the business,raise 5 kid s through
school and 2 thru College all from being a Musician then you can put people
down on this Forum.

What is your history as a steel player ?
You must be pretty good to put kids through college and all.
I can barely support myself and I work all the time.

Bob

Bob,I guess I will never know if I could have been a good Steel Player none of the excellent players who worked for me or sat in with us would ever let me play. My job was to make sure I kept everybody working.You could say it was their good playing that kept me working.

Pardon me guys while I pontificate here and veer of this thread a little, but I would like hear some reminiscing about Lloyd Green's wound 6th. I'm too lazy to execute a search!

Joe was one of, if not the best, singer/entertainer/emcee/band leader in and around Springfield, Mass. There were many nights, weeks, and even months that he worked for free to keep the best musicians working for him. It certainly paid off in the long run by enabling him to work all the best clubs for the best prices.

Believe it or not there are some people that have never become a national or world wide household name who have made a decent living in the music business. Joe Casey is one of those people. The man has been there and done that. A politician , he is not. That may have been the reason he never hit it big, so to speak. But among his real friends he is big enough. He is a man that I would be proud to be on the same stage with. Probably more so than some of the so called stars that I have had the dubious pleasure of standing behind on a lot of stages in a lot of places in the past 40 years.
