Does anyone KNOW what tunning he used with Carl Smith?I have to learn his 50s songs.

To me it all sounded pretty much like C6th....BTW Scottys sell their " Old favourite " tabs and a couple of Carl Smith tunes are covered in C6th.

In1953 HE told me the Carl Smith neck was A6 and the other for guests, etc was c6.

Andy,
I'm an avid Johnny Sibert fan (he spells his last name SIBERT). I can tell you most of Carl Smith's songs were recorded with the A6th tuning on steel. A few like LOOSE TALK and THERE SHE GOES were with the C6th.
Johnny has the greatest "Fender sound" on steel guitar that I have ever heard, bar none.
