Topic: What stand works with lap steels? |

I've just started gigging with my lap steels.
I've got a Harmony & an Oahu - both "guitar-shaped". Sitting and switching between 2 laps and a Dobro is getting to
be a pain. I'd also like to play standing.
I'm thinking of trying a keyboard stand but I'm open for suggestions. What have
any of you tried and what works. |

Ditto,& it doesn't have to be an expensive one,either. A single "X"($29.95±),(as opposed to a double "X",$49.95±) works fine.

A few years ago I played gigs during which I had to alternate between Dobro,lapsteel and pedal steel(+ guitar).I had a double keyboard stand with the Dobro on the bottom and the lapsteel on top.You can adjust the angle of the top shelf so it was actually comfortable to move from one instrument to another,even during one song!The stand is made by Quick-Lok

| For sitting down, I sometimes use a Yamaha drummer's stool. I lash the Ric down to the round seat pad with two small bungie chords and it works like a charm. It's a solid rig and doesn't tip over. Good Luck! |
