Herb Remington asked me to post this for him.
He has a used Triple Neck Steelmaster for sale.
Natural Wood Clear Finish, 24 1/4" scale.
Herb only makes about 12 per year, so there aren't too many of these in existance.
This guitar is in beautiful condition, and there's no waiting -

These are amazing guitars, accurate and powerful with great sustain and chiming harmonics.
This is a rare opportunity to get one right away - they are usually custom made to order and it is a while before delivery.
I love mine and I play it all the time. |

Don't get me wrong - I love getting emails, but you have to call Herb Remington (number above) for the price of this beautiful guitar.

That looks like a beauty! Blondes have always been my favorite! The nice part about this one is it has a nicer voice.

Seeing Howard's fantastic Steelmaster here has certainly got my interest. What would the case & legs be like? Send me a quote by e-mail. I'd appreciate that.
I'm glad to see that Herb will also build a 10 string. I am very intrigued by this.
Howard, are the string separations closer on the 10 vs. the 8?? How is it with slant's & reverses?? I would imagine a 2 string slant/reverse is OK, what about 3 strings?
Are the extra 2 strings on top? Maybe I should'nt think so hard....Hmmmm..."Hard work is not easy"...TX

This beautiful pre-owned Remington Steelmaster T-8 comes with a soft case, although a hard case could be ordered from Herb. It does come with legs. This is a real bargain, but you'll need to talk to Herb by phone for the price - it's not my deal, and Herb just isn't a computer guy.

Ron, the weight is about 32 lbs. Steelmasters are usually made of ash.
The guitar in the pic is not the one that's for sale - that's Howard's guitar, and it does kind of look like oak.
I bet Howard knows for sure . . |

The 10 string spacing is just a hair narrower. Not enough to be of any consequence.
I have no problem with 2 or 3 string slants. I stink equally on both.
Honestly, I don't have enough experience or playing time behind me on electric to give you a real professional opinion on that. Buddy Emmons & Lloyd Green can execute slants on 10 string pedal steel spacing. Now they are the best, but it says that if you want to acomplish something, you can do it with perseverence. |

Ron, I just heard from Howard - he's in Dallas, the lucky dawg! Anyway, his guitar (the one in the pic) is ash. I'm pretty sure the one Herb has for sale is ash as well.
Incidentally, my new Steelmaster is poplar - a lot of people like it . .
Poplar is known for taking paint well, and it sure does look terrific. It sounds great, too - in fact IMO it sounds better than my D8 Steelmaster which is ash. So there!

OK, here's some sobering news.....well, not for me, I've had a few vodkas already.
I just returned from the MSA room where we had a sneak preview of the new MSA lap steels. Way cool, but that's another thread.
Maurice Anderson played the 12 string lap steel. I can't begin to tell you the calibre of his playing and he was doing slants up and down the neck. That 12 string spacing is very narrow and he was doing forward and reverse slants with such finese and accuracy. He is know as a foremost pedal steelist, but he is a master of non pedal and a master of slanting.
I asked him about this and I even mentioned this thread. He said that the narrow spacing is even better for slants and proceded to show me four & five string chords using slants. His tuning was C6. BTW, he did a killer version of Malaguena. |
