This is my first time to post, however I bought a pedal steel I read about on the forum from Dale Dorsey a couple years ago when I decided to learn how to play. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough sticktuitiveness to buckle down and practice as much as I should have. Also, my wife and I are expecting our first child, and I can’t justify having a valuable asset like this sit in the closet while we trim all excess from our budget. So, I’d like to sell the same pedal steel on the forum where I bought it. I don’t know much about pedal steels, so I hope my descriptions make sense. I have plenty of pictures to provide.

The instrument is a lacquer Mullen SD-10. The body is actually 1 1/2 size, not a full double. It has three pedals and five knee levers. It has the Emmons setup. With its birds eye natural lacquer finish, it’s a beautiful instrument; even my wife will admit to that. Mr. Dorsey had Del Mullen tweak it before he sold it to me. I reckon Mr. Mullen might remember the instrument if you’d like to ask him about the tone, which Mr. Dorsey says is really great. Then prior to shipping it to me, Dale had Tom Brumley autograph it on the back panel. It seems to play great and sound great with no electronic problems. I have a BJS 7/8” bar that I’ll throw in with it since I won’t be using it. I’ll let it go for $1,750 plus shipping. And remember, proceeds go towards a good cause - diapers.

Thanks,
Doug

Just have to say how great sounding this guitar was when I owned it. Hated to sell it when I did and would buy it back if I didn't already have another like it that I'm also in love with. Gorgeous guitar and really had a special tone. Someone will enjoy this immensely.

Dale,

Do you know what year this Mullen was manufactured?

I believe it was the early 90's, according to Del when I had it in his shop. I know it was prior to the Royal Precisions, for sure. It has a little thicker wood body which I personally believe adds to the tone, on this particular guitar. Del tightened everything up and added new fretboards to it making it like new.
