lap/dobro

Please help-THanks. First, I play paddle steel only the E9th.Now, I have been asked to learn the dobro,lap steel, and for my own instrest the C6th.NOw the questions: to make things better should I tune up to B6th-dobro in E or in G-what about the lap steel? And for a head ringer,should I go to the U12 on the peddle steel? I know thats alot to think about but maby someone out there has been through this. I am in a jam.Thank all of you.
