Larry, man... thank you. It would have taken me a year to find that second string thingy, and even then it would have been an accident !

You can get the same notes using the 3rd and 4th strings with the E's lowered. That's how I play my many variations on that idea, but I'll bet Buddy uses the 2nd string.

I asked Buddy if the third pedal was used in the lick. He said:

"No third pedal. All done with pedal A and E to F lever (1st two beats), and from there on, E to Eb lever, pedals A & B and back to E to Eb lever."

Not sure whether I lost that bet or not.

He still didn't say whether he uses the 2nd string or Eb lever on those two descending notes. I don't use B and C at all either. The tab may be correct. If not, you use the Eb lever with the 3rd and 4th string descending part (instead of 2nd and 3rd strings).
