I just figured out that I have an entire scale on the first 2 strings. How did I miss this?

1|———5———6———8———10———12———13———15———17——
2|———5E——6———8———10E——12E——13———15———17E—

Hi Gary

I tried it and it works - but is it any use when you can get the same voicing on strings 4 and 5 starting at the 6th fret?. Also a soggy half stop on the 2nd string would make it a bit hit and miss.

I have never seen the scale used in any tab - does anyone use it?

Same voicings can of course be found several defferent places on the PSG. That is what is fun because they all have a slightly different timbre.
Sometimes I will use parts of the scale shown on strings 1&2 to get from one position to another. If the halfstop lowering causes trouble one can use strings 3&4 to play the Maj intervals and strings 1&2 for the minor intervals.
Same scale shown on strings 4, 3, 2, 1 without lowering the 2nd string.

1|—————6———8—————————————13———15———————————
2|—————6———8—————————————13———15———————————
3|——3——————————8————10——————————————15—————
4|——3——————————8————10——————————————15—————

I use bits and pieces of this scale also for shifting positions. Also fun is to include the fret between to adjacent intervals like this.

1|—————6—7—8—————————————13—14—15———————————
2|—————6—7—8—————————————13—14—15———————————
3|——3——————————8——9—10——————————————15—————
4|——3——————————8——9—10——————————————15—————

Here's another using strings 1,2, and 4(for unison sound) or 1,2, and 5
1-3r--6---8--8r--10r--13---15--15r--------
2-3---6---8--8---10---13---15--15---------
3-----------------------------------------
4-3---6L--8L-8---10---13L--15L-15---------
5-----------------------------------------
