Guys, Weldon tunes his 2nd string to C# and raises it twice. He told me that he and Hal Rugg started doing that because the early changers would raise and return better than they lowered and returned. That is also why some guys raised their 4th string but didn't lower it and lowered their 8th string but didn't raise it. The returns of these moves weren't cocsistasntly returning true. Some guys may prefer these copedant arrangements but they were arrived at to get around problems with the early changers.
