Hi Paul,
Contact fellow forumite Murnel Babineaux and ask him if heβs the steeler. He played in that band at one time. _________________ RETIRED

Hey Paul! Haha...another "where's the steel player?". Some nice, tasteful and appropriate playing for that tune. The Yellow Rose (in Corpus?)...been there, done that way back when in the good, ole days. Just thought I'd chime in and say " hey", been a while. Hope you're doing and playing good! Just got a new axe and playing again after a significant health issue. Regards,RK _________________ "think MORE...play LESS" |

Iβm pretty sure that might be Bobby Terry on the steel guitar. Jeff, correct me if Iβm wrong.ππ _________________ Rittenberry Prestige(2) |

The steel player is Lamar Posey. I have worked in several bands with him. He is a great steel player, vocalist, and great guitar player. And most of all he is a great person and one of the very best friends I have ever made. I have heard several of these video's from Hurricane and they are all great. |

Have had intentions to meet/hear Lamar for several years. That is some nice playing. _________________ RETIRED

I know Bobby Terry was also playing with him around that time. Bobby is with Garth Brooks now.ππ _________________ Rittenberry Prestige(2) |

I thought that might be Lamar as he worked with Jeff at that time. I believe that is the Yellow Rose club between Lafayette and Maurice. I played the club several years earlier and it looks familiar. Wish there had been a good look at the Steeler. Bobby Terry is also a monster musician from that area along with several others. RoyThomas lived and built steel guitars a couple of miles down the road in Maurice. |

Billy that is definitely Lamar on steel he played me some of those recordings when we were working together. That's Kip Sonnier on guitar Buddy Ramero on drums, and Tony Bruce on keyboards. I'm not sure but I think maybe Duke Henderson was on bass. I hope this helps. By the way,I talked with Charlie Moore yesterday and he is doing good. |
