I just read this in the Austin chronicle in an article about the award winners.

I'm not familiar with Zach and couldn't find much about him in a brief search.

Wonder if anyone can shed light about him, nice to see he won the award, congrats!

Hey Craig!

I’m Zack Wiggs. 5 years after my first steel purchase and I’m finally on the forum. Thanks for those kind words! I try to keep one foot firmly planted in traditional country vocabulary and the other as “unplanted” as possible, trying to fit steel into super untraditional context. Buddy Dicky and Weldon are some of my favorite players, but I also am deeply inspired by folks like Will van Horn, Susan Alcorn and Luke Schneider.

Good to meet ya and thanks James Woodall for getting me to finally join lol

Also my band lineup is currently

Brody Price-(affectionately referred to as “Doom Country” Brody writes like John Prine but then sonically it opens up with big distorted country licks and slow hooks and stuff. really fun!)

Pelvis Wrestley-Picture Springsteen’s power ballad writing and of Of Montrel’s synth maximalism, super fun!

Walker Lukens-Austin’s sultry synth alt pop guy! He hires me a lot for collaboration, we worked on that Texas Wild album together and are currently working on a reimaginatiom of The Flaming Lips’ album The Soft Bulletin.

-And lots of one off work doing overdubs or sitting in with touring bands or subbing for the local guys.
