I’m restoring a my 1971 professional. It’s currently a 4x3. I want to add a LKR to lower the E’s. Does anyone happen to have a pic of a rack and barrel LKR setup that I can copy or at least get some idea of what works so I’m not reinventing the wheel? Thx

Excellent idea Eric I don’t have a picture to send you but I’m sending some of the parts you will need.

Good news Harry Jackson’’s favorite pull system is rack a barrel system !

Harry loves the fact that all changer pull rods run through each rack an our supported by each rack .

Harry likes the brass barrels you can add to pick up all the changes you can dream up!

He also says the one over one changer is his favorite.

Rack a Barrel gets a bad rap because the operator don’t have a clue how to maintain them.

Some people the first thing will do when they tune is break or bend the spring
That that sticks out of the brass barrel.

Same with the myths an rumors about the push pull Emmons about tuning stability, that’s fine though leaves more of best steels for us!

I liked the rack & barrel too. My only complaint was it was noisy and clunky, but livable.

Here's one I set up(this is a Professional which is originally D-10) and you can see the LKR can have an extension bracket that actually move the LEVER back towards the back apron to be more in line with the LKL; as opposed to reaching your knee Waaaaaay in to engage the lever at the middle ledge. You can ONLY get these original design made parts from Michael Yahl at: www.psgparts.com
