Biggest and best show I ever attended. I was hooked at my 1st in the early 80s. I faithfully attended every year until 2013. Scotty was a friend and supporter to the steel guitar industry and his presence is badly missed. How I miss this great convention.

I didn't start attending Scotty's until maybe 2008 or so. Then attended many years in a row. My first attendance had me calling my wife on Friday Night telling her to hop a plane and get there as fast as she could ! And she did ! All thru Sat and Sunday she sat on the floor right in front of the stage with a whole bunch of others. I was maybe 4 or 5 rows back and she kept looking back with a grin asking me " did you see and hear that " ? LOL Laughing

I think it was 2010, Buddy opened the show on Friday night, it was standing room only all the way back to the entry doors ! I still get chills reflecting back to that night.

Yep, St Louis was the place to be on Labor Day weekend, no doubt.

Man, I sure missed a lot before 2008 ! Sad

My first show was in 74'. And, boy was I in shock and awe, when, I saw it. I couldn't get my head straightened out for a week. I attended every show up until 2011. They were all quite the experience and wonderment. Every Labor Day weekend I can't help but think about the big steel show!
