I saw this morning where Claude Gray passed on Friday. He had several hit songs including Family Bible as well. I met him last year at a local singing and his voice was still smooth on he was definitely on the money. RIP Claude Gray, you will definitely be missed.

In 2003 or so, we lived in northeastern Spain. We had two local country music clubs that were our homes-away-from-home, and one of them hired me to play steel at several shows behind Mr Gray. At that time, we were moderators for a now-defunct online country music forum, so we were further honored to interview him. We knew several people in common and I knew his songs, so it was a great chapter in our lives to meet him.

A good one gone home. Claude was old school country and a fine singer. I remember him well. Rip Claude. My prayers for his family and friends.

What a great, commanding voice and sadly one of the last of the stars of the 1960’s.

RIP, Mr Gray. Even though my mentor Lloyd Green only played on this album, he thoroughly enjoyed your singing and songs, we'll remember you always.
