That sounds nice! C6 tuning I assume? Is that a volume knob on the front side of the guitar?

Congratulations!

Thanks Brad! It’s in open E tuning, with the tone knob on the side.

Congratulations on your new instrument! I look forward to the two of you getting acquainted. I find single neck Clinesmiths like the Joaquin irresistible…I haven’t played a Frypan…yet.

Mine is the only Clinesmith I’ve ever seen in person. I hope to try out a Joaquin someday.

Thanks Doug. I’m still adjusting to it, it’s so different from all of my other steels.

Nice! I like everything about it. I also like your hybrid picking technique; something I’m working on, as I like using a pick, don’t like finger picks, but the utility of finger picking is pretty important to lap steel.

Enjoy your new Clinesmith. Todd makes fantastic instruments.

Sounds great, Steve. I find the Clinesmith steel is so Hi-Fi it accentuates everything one does - good and bad - so good blocking is very important. It gives additional clarity to some of the licks you play with distortion that's wonderful, like an extra spice in a dish or something.

Thanks Allan. I’m actually trying to use a plastic fingerpick on my middle finger on this video. Waiting for the nail to grow back😬

Thanks Andy. I really like it, but I’m still getting used to the extra sizzle on the high end…part of the Hi-Fi sound😊
