This is probably old news but just in case ..... I was with Gary Sill yesterday and he gave me some finger picks he sells called ProPiks. These were nickel/silver and blade #3. They do different metals like brass etc... And different blade angles. But these are perfect for me out of the box. I've always used National NP2s and used needle nose pliers to shape them. The ProPiks don't hurt my fingers like other do. I'll probably keep using Nationals for banjo because I shape banjo picks to pretty extreme angles.
But ... I think these ProPiks are great for steel guitar. _________________ Laquered MSA Classic D10 8+5

I switched from National picks to ProPiks many years ago. I use the Reso picks, with angled blades.

Picks Made For The Technical Demands Of Steel & Resophonic Guitar Playing
What sets Reso finger picks apart from the ones that you currently use is Reso's angled blade. Made for the technical demands of steel and resophonic guitar playing, these angled blade picks let you hit the strings more efficiently without contorting your hand or fingers. Increase tone, speed and volume with Reso guitar picks.

Great picks! The most comfortable too. I use brass ones and don't notice any loss of tone when compared with traditional picks. They also make a great thumb pick with a 2 band adjustable metal thumb grip with a narrow Delron blade. Again, really comfortable, stable and producing a brighter tone that traditional thumb picks IMHO. _________________ Ben-Rom #017 'Lorelei', Guild D25, Epiphone 'Joe Pass', Roland 40XL, Hilton VP

I love their thumb picks. Have used for banjo for a while and now PSG that I’m learning. Will have to check out the finger picks, too. Thanks! |

I use the all-metal thumb pick, but I still prefer NP2s for the fingers. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
