Doing a thread repair on a few of my pedal rods. The quick-connects are ok, but the locking nuts don't all hold.

Already tried chasing the threads with a die and getting new nuts. Looks like it may be time for epoxy. My plan is to epoxy the rod ends, let dry and cure, and then re-thread again with the die (and possibly also get the locking nuts with the nylon inserts). Upon a suggestion from a fellow forumite, I'm likely going to use some JB Weld.

My Q for y'all is, should I use the original JB Weld, or the JB Weld "SteelStik?" This will be my first time working with the stuff.

So, which of these?

1) J-B Weld 8265S Original Cold-Weld Steel Reinforced Epoxy
or
2) J-B WELD SteelStik

Napa sells thread repair which is used in automotive, you apply it to the threads and let it dry, then chase thread with the correct dye, and there you have tough new threads, it works great on worn threads. This way you keep them adjustable.

Don't over tighten the lock nut.
