I have always played a regular s10 with no armrest. I am having a steel built for me and Mr. Justice offers a bolt on armrest. I am just a novice and wondered if there is an advantage or since I have never used one don't bother? Its only another $100. What do you all think?

I think you will like it. I put one on my first S10 and I liked it.

Worst idea ever IMO. Totally unnecessary. Results in bad posture and promotes a lazy condition. Your arms and hands need to be free to float... move back and forth, left and right as you move up and down the neck. You don't see pads on pianos, do you?

Myself, I like the pad on the back. I don't use it as a REST.
But it helps stabilize my position. I made my own..
