Looking for a lighter guitar than my D-12. The more pedals and knee levers the better. |

Peter, do you have a D-12 Emmons? I own 2, but am always on the prowl. I don't have a S12 now, but have owned some nice ones in the past. Good luck on your hunt. |

Pete, funny you mention your Emmons D-12. I just wrapped up my November column for SWSGA's Steel Guitar Rag newsletter, first in a series educating readers about the extended E9; and tell the story of how your letting me try that D12 on a break at Cowtown or Sam's Club, I forget which venue, got me hooked and led me down this path of ruin and low notes! I wish I could own that steel since it has primal history in my life. But, like you, I'm content with an S-12, or SD-12, for weight reasons alone, but also to simplify life. I'll never have time, or devote time, to getting anywhere with the C6 neck, so overboard it goes. Except for my homebound pre-RP Mullen D12, I'll keep that one.
Aren't you happy with your MSA?
All best,
John McClung

John, I still have 2 D-12 Emmons Push/Pulls as well as the only D-12 Franklin in existance. Just sayin'. Extended E9 is the only way to fly IMHO. |

Dave, yes I love my D-12 Emmons. I bought it new in 1975, I think. I recently A/B'd it with my 2011 MSA Millennium. The Emmons not only stuffed it in a garbage can and took its lunch money, it walked away with its girl friend.
Ken, yes, Jim has a SD-12. I'm looking for lighter than that.
John, Same here with me and C6, though I've been once again dabbling with it this week. Strange pedal setup for me. I've been thinking of turning the C neck into a harp guitar neck, where I would be able to play some bass lines while I play the E neck and mute with my wrists. |

That's pretty funny. Never heard that expression before. |
