I bought two old Altec power amp front panels off ebay and the one panel that said it was solid state I added a 17x8x3" chassis, Sure 600w Class D amp module and Mean Well 48vdc 12.5A power supply.

600w at 2 ohm
400w at 3 ohm
300w at 4 ohm

The ICE power Class D amp/power supply module would be a lot better but I already had this one.

Are those the modules from Parts Express? How good do they sound? Are they comparable to the class D amps flooding the market?

BTW: What part of MN do you live, I am currently living in Savage.

Thanks,
Robert

Robert, I'm in Moorhead MN/Fargo ND area.

This amp sounds very good but when I was talking to Tim Marcus he preferred the ICEpower sold to dealers only but some surplus hits ebay. The problem with the unit I bought is it requires a very large power supply that takes up a lot of space. Yes these are sold through Parts Express.
