Been wanting to learn to play this tune since about 1964. Not just follw it but get as close to TB's picking as possible. The tune has always fascinated me. I got the tablature from TB a few years ago along with the "Tom Cattin'" CD.

Tom certainly played the tune at "high speed".

To overcome the frustration of losing it about 5 seconds into the tune I bought a copy of NCH's WavePad and extracted the tune from the CD as a .wav file. WavePad has let me slow the tune down to 50% speed with remarkable clarity maintaing pitch and timbre.

At that speed I can actualy follow the tablature...

Now I have something to perhaps succeed in when the snow flies....

I use Audacity to achieve the same effect... we're lucky to have this technology nowadays. I've figured out several songs and licks this way. love it!

So, at 50% speed, which is just about the tempo I play it also, maybe we should call it "Bud's Thud" Cool

I used to play Tom's version when I was in the car with Bud Isaacs. He absolutely loved Tom's version....rj
