Hi,
I'm trying to figure out this split on 6. My RKL lowers 6 from G# to G. The B pedal doesn't engage the string when the knee lever is engaged.
I thought the split needed the RKL and B pedal to achieve a G.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I watched a few videos on Youtube, but I'm still confused.
Thanks
Al

You already have the G note w the rkl. A split on the 6th string is usually to achieve a G note when it is also lowered to an F#. Splits have to be tuned in a specific order:
1- tune the note open at the keyhead
2- tune the raised note
3- tune the split w both the raise and the lower
engaged using the lower tuning nut
4- tune the final lower w the split tuning nut or
screw. |

It should be lowering to F#. The split with the B pedal would be G. |

Yes. Lower to F# on lever, tune with split screw. Engage with b pedal and adjust the split with the split hex tuner. _________________ Ben-Rom #017 'Lorelei', Guild D25, Epiphone 'Joe Pass', Roland 40XL, Hilton VP

I figured it out. I had the bottom hex cinched up way too tight. User error. I backed everything off and started from scratch. The split on 6 works perfectly now.
Fred Justice gave me a call to help me sort it out. I didn't want to bother him originally because he's a busy guy. Not too busy to phone and offer help.
Thanks, Fred.
