Is Scotty's Music out of business?
I have some old catalogs of Jerry Byrd Tab/sheet music I wanted to purchase and their phone is out of order. Is there another resource for this?

Steve

Email them. Last I heard, Michael was still responding to queries and selling stuff--at least what they still had in inventory.

Jim Palenscar got a bunch of their inventory, I believe.

That's good (and important) information. I would love confirmation of this if you do contact Jim.

I just recently (month back?) ordered the Jerry Byrd course from them and Michael sent over a pretty big list of stuff they still have to sell (including many JB arrangements). So do try emailing...probably just no longer a brick and mortar shop...

I purchased the majority of what they had and obviously didn't get it all based on the last post.

Regarding the Jerry Byrd tablature, there's a good chance that it's still available. I think Michael used to print out copies as needed, as the orders came in, for the individual JB "pro arrangements" anyway.

Yep, I just printed his new catalog. He will print what I ordered and mail to me.

Doug, I'm gonna be working on Tear Drop out of your book this weekend!

Steve, have fun with Tear Drop! It's a great tune. As far as the JB "pro arrangements", they are very difficult... lots of reverse slants, fills, improv mixed with melody, etc. I have a few of them and I had to leave out or modify some of the fills to make the songs more playable (for me anyway). Jerry was in a league of his own. Cool

Doug, your statement makes me feel better ! I have quite a few of the JB arrangements and I always have to change things so that they are playable for me. But I still love trying them out...he was and still is the master.
