Recently, I made a post regarding use of finger and palm harmonics on lap or NP steel. I am
of the opinion that the use of finger and palm harmonics is declining. I don't know whether
my opinion is correct or incorrect. Maybe the results of this poll will confirm my opinion, or
show that my opinion is wrong, if a sufficient number of members participate.

Does finger harmonics include knuckle harmonics? Bercause that's what I use most (as opposed to finger harmonics done with the tip of a finger on the harmonic node).

Roman, I am not sure technically how a knuckle harmonic is classified. Here are photos from from Scotty's book:

In my opinion, you could choose finger harmonics, since Scotty talks about using the
3rd and 4th fingers, rather than the palm.

I used finger harmonics exclusively for 40 years. After surgery on my thumb, I could no longer get my thumb around far enough to do finger harmonics so I was forced to learn palm harmonics. I don't use harmonics any more or less now than I did 50 years ago. It's a great technique if it's not overdone.
