Is anyone using any of the new Magnatone amps with a steel guitar? They look interesting. http://magnatoneusa.com/products/traditional-collection/twilighter-stereo/

We opened for Lucas Nelson the other night...he was running a Les Paul Jr through two of them....sounded wicked! Wondering too if they would work good for steel. My guess is yes!

Those Dual 22 Twilighters look like the ticket for steel. Maybe kinda like a Deluxe Reverb? 6V6's v. El34 and 84 in the head and other combo amps. Interesting pitch based vibrato instead of volume based tremolo with reverb.

Kinda pricey though @ $3100 + for the stereo model.

What's interesting, is that according to a Sep 2014 GP magazine, Delbert Dickerson originally built these amps and steel guitars for his daughter rather than buying one back in the 40's. Cool.

I didn't link to it, 'cause I'm not sure how these things work concerning ownership.

Anyway, cool old resurrected amp models. Be interesting to try one out. May have to take a lap steel over the Guitar Emporium or something.

Now that I think about it, I remember reading about these 3 or 4 years ago. Interesting amps.

Not much power for Steel - tube rectifier - but guessing it's got great tone for studio.

The late Lonnie Mack used a Magnatone 460 for the (true) vibrato sound.
