I just caught one song from LeAnne Womack on the Megan Kelly show,Couldn't tell who the steel player was or what brand of steel guitar he was playing...all I could tell was the guitar was sunburst.

Didn't see it either. But that's not Randy. The guy is playing a Show Pro.

Yep, that's Justin. Here he is doing a session with that sunburst Show Pro. Good looking guitar.

Recording is hard work! I'm amazed at Justin's talent and his patience in that video.

I love recording and overdubbing , it's a lots of fun, but it's completely different then playing live, I remember years ago I heard some stuff Buddy did, and it was just a steel part without anything else, I couldnt believe it was Buddy how simple it was, honestly, I thought it sucked at first, but once it got incorporated into the song, the final production was great, it sounded awesome.... I heard of some monster players who would kick ass on the stage at the live gig, but they would be useless in studio because of their overplaying, and walking over everyone, I heard of some guys who would get paid and leave the session, and as soon as they were out of the studio producer would delete their complete track, and hire another player to do it all over again....

That's funny, Damir Very Happy
I had a similar reaction when seeing a tube vid of an isolated Albert Lee track on a Dave Edmunds tune. Even the guys in the studio were looking at each other like, geez...this is supposed to be one of the greatest country guitarists ever? And then the engineer punches off the solo button and whammo! The perfect part is being laid down by a truly brilliant player.

Sorry for the detour off the topic. I know recording is an art, and Justin Schipper is certainly a pro. I have never gotten along in a studio and much prefer playing live. That's why I'm so famous.
