I got the cheaper "connect" version, which is ipad only, or USB midi without the synth. While I'm still optimistic that it might work with a bunch of tinkering, the string pitch is simply too wide for my U12. For any other intrepid DIYers out there, beware of cutting the individual mag windings in disassembly. I have an email out to Fishman to see if they'll sell me an individual one to resolder, but suspect that I've ended up purchasing four expensive replacements for the next one I buy to modify. I'm going to 3d print a new enclosure with the right string pitch, and see if I can get it to work for the pickups that aren't toast, and then make a full U12 version if the experiment is a success. I'll let you know.
