My Amp did a real loud squeal a couple times in the last 2 times I played out. I noticed the switch that does the positive negative change was in the middle so I flipped it on and it stopped. Any ideas if it will squeal when in that middle position.Just picking at straws here. The center position, according to the Peavey manual, is for when there is proper grounding at the AC power receptacle.
Improper grounding may result in hum, but I doubt that it would cause a squeal.
I would, first, reseat the reverb Molex connector. _________________ GFI Ultra Keyless S-10 with pad (Black of course) TB202 amp, Hilton VP, Steelers Choice sidekick seat, SIT Strings

Still get a loud squeal from my Nashville 400 amp and I have reseated the reverb Molex connectors. I can't get it to do it all the time so it is hard to track down. I notice that it only does it when I first turn it on. Had it a long time and never had this issue before. I can try turning the reverb off and see but again it does not do it all the time.Any advice is welcome. You can turn the reverb control to "off" to stop a reverb squeal, however, there might be that slight chance that the reverb cabling could cause a squeal, but it's unlikely.
Nonetheless, even solid state amplifiers need periodic maintenance. |

Thanks Mike . I called them and they said to box the chassis and reverb up and send it to them. They will go thru it and see what is happening. Hated to send it anywhere but it has been a great amp and probably does need checking out.I live in Michigan so it has to be shipped. Thanks again. None of my business, but if you're going to send it somewhere, send it to the Peavey factory in Meridian Miss. Best all around deal IMO.
