Just got one of these glass bars from Ebay:

It arrived yesterday. Thus far, I'm pretty happy with it. Much easier to hold on to than any metal bullet bar I've tried. Love the feel of it. Very similar in tone/sustain to my Diamond Bottlenecks bar, but the shorter size seems nicer on 6 string instruments. I'll probably continue to use my Diamond on the 8 string.

The Clinesmith polymer bar hasn't been mentioned yet. They are unbelievably quiet, even on the wound strings. I just ordered a second 3/4 by 3" bar for my lap steel and a 7/8" inch bar for my pedal steel. He makes other sizes too. [Just noticed that Rick Barnhart did mention the Clinesmith bars] |
