I didn't want to post this in the "for sale section", because, it's not. Because so many of you members have been in the guitar world for so long, I'm looking for your sage advice:

What's the best way to appraise the value of a one-owner
1966 Fender Strat, Sunburst, all original parts, w/ Tremolo bar, original case. Needs a fret job. ???

thanks in advance. . . .(is this ok in this section?)

edit: and while I'm at it, who would you send a '66 Strat to for a fret job? The neck is really straight and good, just needs the frets dressed up.

If you just want to know its market value, the Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide is an excellent resource.

If you want an actual written appraisal for insurance purposes, Gruhn Guitars in Nashville offers that service online.

the direct answer is a range from $7000 up to possibly $11,000 or $12,000 or a tad more , based on obvious condition and the buyers willingness to pay , along with the sellers willingness to sell, at an offered price.

Sure some sellers are asking more , no doubt.

best to you
