A joint recording project for CD album "Marvin on Steel" with ace guitarist Charles Campbell. This cover of "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. was the first track. "Everybody Hurts" was released by them as a single in 1993 and became a generational anthem. Charles Campbell on acoustic and Stratocaster guitars, with all accompaniments. Steel guitar by me.

Hi Kay,
Lovely playing on this tune. Like yourself I grew up listening to The Shadows here in the UK and you have a great knack of interpreting their tunes on your Steelocaster, in fact I'm thinking of building one for myself, as it has a broad tonal range. Or what about building a "Telesteel" with the Nashville 3 pickups setup". More twang than knicker elastic?.
Keith.

Keith, Mick, good to hear from you from the UK, and also from Karl in Chicago. Grateful for the appreciation.

Where in the UK are you located? I have just returned from a visit. My son and his family live in Hastings and I used to live and work in Cambridge in the seventies. I visit the UK often.

This time I sensed there is a bit of a turn going on in the UK with American country music. Met a few pedal steel players.

Yes, Hank and The Shads are my guitar heroes. I have recorded three CDs: "Shadows on Steel", "Shadows on Steel - Encore" and "Marvin on Steel" available from Leo's Den or cdbaby/iTunes etc.

Good luck with the "tele-steel"!

Kay
