North Fork Music Park (Warsaw NY) held their 27th annual Labor Day Jam, and the music went from afternoon to O-dark:30 for the diehards, all 3 days. We had a wide range of musicians from all over western New York, including 6 steel players (playing 6 different brands of steel). A great time was had by all!

Left to right: Yours truly, Harry Nourse, Dean Seamon, Zeke Cory, and Eddie Koszela. Chris McGauley was there the previous evening but was not there for the photo.

It's not too early to put this event on your calendar for next year!

Yes, Bob, to be honest the Rains stayed home because it's too heavy. While I am learning a few basics on C6th, that neck would have been no use to me playing out, and the Stage One was the practical choice. I have a possible rotator cuff issue with my left shoulder (seeing the doc today actually) and if it leads to surgery hopefully after that I'll feel like 20 years old again and can bring it next time.

I will have to go get his Rains D10 and take it to North Fork for him after he gets his shoulder all fixed up (lol). Don is a main staff player on all of our shows at North Fork. He is a super musician and a great friend to have fun with. Thanks Don !!!

Looks like more "candidates" for Florida. LOL

It seems like we have half of Canandaigua here.... Snowbirds and those that have moved here permanently(including John King and Donny Colf and Hoss Coletes who has since passed on).

Actually, looked like a good steel guitar jam.

Didn't know you were familiar with these parts Jack, but anybody who can correctly spell "Canandaigua" does not do so by accident!

Actually we had a good assortment of other musicians too, but the steel players are the important ones! Wink

I have a snowbird friend that is retired from Kodak.
I took basic training at Samson AFB - in February 1955!

We see a lot of upstate NY people here in the Winter.

Don ... you really should spend some time on the C6 neck when you are better. The E9th usually pays the bills, but I can't say I've heard anything prettier than some of the sounds you can get on C6th side. I seem to find more by accident than on purpose. It really is a fun neck to play. jmho.

And to John ... We would love to have another friend join us.

Not to bog the forum with my personal woes but I'll share the good news: this afternoon the doc said he believes no surgery on my shoulder will be needed, some therapy and some time will hopefully have me back to normal. So maybe you'll get to see that Rains yet, Zeke!

John is the real deal and I have been twisting his arm to come to North Fork for several years. Sounds like I might be starting to wear him down!

Here's a shot from a year or two back, showing a bit more of the place. Harry and his wife (and many others) put a lot of work into the event and it shows.

Don ... great news to hear abo at these sessions.ut your shoulder. Maybe we are both on the long healing mend now. As for North Fork, just keep buggin' John till he joins us (lol). It would be an treat to have more steel players from the SGF join us at North Fork. Once you come to one of our jams, you will want to keep coming back again and again. Like you once said, the musicians are treated like royalty.
