Is there a way to make information on an MP4 smaller in size? When I try to send one audio file, it is too large. A message come up saying I can email up to 35 MB only and this one file has 47 MB
I use OUTLOOK for my email and have an IMac that is about 6 years old.
I use OSX 10.7.5 operating system
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks all,
Stevet |

Steve, if all you need to send is an audio file, convert to a mp3 file.
That will make the file size much smaller. I do that all the time.
The program I always use is "Pazera Audio Extractor" which is free.
I use it with both Win XP and Win 10 and it always works great.
There are other free programs you can get, but check rhis one out.

It is a free file transfer located in the Netherlands. You can send up to 25 GB Free. I have used it several times sending and receiving large files to Germany. Anything larger than 25 GB you have to join and pay a fee. Hope this helps.

Use dropbox or Google drive. You upload to your free account and then send a link to whoever needs to download. Easy, and no size restrictions other than the size of your account. Works for any type of file. I do this with several musicians. _________________ ShoBud Pro 1, 75 Tele, 85 Yamaha SA 2000, Fender Cybertwin, |

+1 on using dropbox. Besides using it to allow someone access to a file, I can access a file on my Ipad and phone. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I only use WeTransfer.
It has never failed me. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. Steve, you might want to try using an Audio Website like Picosong. Your correspondent can listen to the file on the website and then download it if s/he likes. Email was never designed to handle large file transfers, but rather the email contains a link to a server when the file can be found and transferred. I realize that these days there are some people doing some things on the Internet that it was never designed for but this is a case where it makes a lot of sense to follow the original concept. Post your Sound File one time to Picosong or Dropbox or whatever server you prefer and whenever anyone needs a copy, just email a link.
If you haven't used Picosong before here is a sample:

If you don't mind paying for a converter that also does video besides audio you can try Wondershare Converter Ultimate. You can convert Mp3 @ 320 kbps. It will handle MP4 and other video and audio formats.
If not, get Audacity but you'll need to download Lame to convert to mp3 in order to get a smaller file within Audacity.
Other than that the Dropbox solution works. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1
