Dennis gave the link to Gotoh tuners as replacements for old, worn-out Klusons originally used on Emmons. Over the years I have used the Gotohs and highly recommend them.
- They look the same, if you can do w/o the words "Kluson Deluxe" printed on them.
- Their mounting holes are exactly where they should be, unlike the "genuine" Kluson reproductions where you have to drill out the tuners' mounting holes to make them line up with those in the steel's keyhead.
- Best of all, they have an 18:1 gear ratio, unlike the originals which have a 15:1 ratio.
Don't lose the little mounting screws when you remove the old tuners! Tiny little devils that can easily fall on the shop floor and result in a frustratingly long time finding them. |
