This is my version of Nightlife played on Lap Steel standard C6 just to see if it could be done.

I'm luvin' it! This is one of the classics that will never be lost, it sounds magnificent! This was probably one of the first real steel guitar songs that caught my ear years ago. The way that you compensate for having no pedals - sounds incredible!

Nice
What is in your tuning?
I do it in C6 with a major 7th in the tuning for more notes in the chords

Thank you all for your kind comments, I really appreciate them.
The tuning I used was standard C6 G,E,C,A,G,E,C,A high to low. The guitar I normally use is a National Console which is still all original. I am a bit reluctant to change any tunings due to the age of the tuning keys as I don't know when they are going to go.
However on this recording I was using a home made keyless 10 string. It was made by one of the British Steelies members. 24" scale using SIT strings and fitted with a George L E66 pickup. Terrific sustain and tone.
Plans are in hand to build a twin neck of similar design with C6 at the rear and Tom Morrell's E13 at the front.

ooo. that was what I was thinking. like a Lap steel equivalent to the pedal setup That the legends use to use.

Thanks for that Sonny. Yes you are right. Thats three people now who have asked for tab. Lots of bar slants. Spent some time trying to find them.

Have never tabbed anything before so am a bit stumped but will give it a try.

The alternative could be to video as a lesson and put on YouTube.
