Just curious as to which of the Magnatone lap steels are considered to be "high end".
What do you like/dislike about them?
Is there something you would do to improve the guitar?

The G65 and G70 Models are generally thought of as their higher end models.. The Troubadour models are generally considered a "mid grade" instrument.. the small MOT models (like the one in my profile pic) are often referred to as "student models".. They all have their charm..
The 8 string models tend to be in the higher to mid grade instruments..

I recently purchased a Troubador single 6 string. I wasn't expecting much. But, I haven't put it down in two weeks. Everyone in the family listening to me practice comments how nice it sounds too...which is not normal for them! LOL

Not sure where in the 'professional' hierarchy this one sits but I LOVE it. The tone has a wide sweep (maybe a little muddy on the lower side) but is responsive and tight. It plays so easy...fretboard markings, weight on knees, scale length etc. Giged with it many times!!

Wow, what a cool double neck Jeff! Here's my Aloha cast aluminum and plexiglass - speculated to have been built by Magnatone. Is there a Maggie love thread? If not, maybe this should be it.
