Well first of all, that is one probably mid-late 60's, 24.5" scale beauty of a D8! --To many, the most desirable Stringmaster.
I would offer at least 1500$
IMO

It's not worth anything, send it to me and I will dispose of it for you... Very Happy

Seriously, nice looking Fender. Would love to have one.

I think a rough rule of thumb on Stringmasters is $500 a neck.

I bought a short scale Stringmaster D8 in beautiful shape for $1200 last year and feel like that was a great deal. Even better because it was semi-local and didn't have to be shipped. The one in your picture looks pristine at first glance but looking closer you can see a number of dings between the necks. Nothing wrong with that and it looks like less wear than most player guitars I've seen. Here's a really pretty refinished medium-scale that sold on ebay a few months back for $1225.

The outer neck looks thicker than the one on my D8 though. Almost like the outer neck on a quad. Anyone with a better eye than me have a comment? A good price regardless. You selling or buying, Greg?

Bill,
I believe you are correct on the ebay Stringmaster.
There is too much difference in height between the two necks.

Bill I'm just gathering information for now. This is one of four guitars belonging to my Dad; we had to recently place him in a nursing home and he is not able to remember much about them. I will be posting the other three here soon.

And, of course, on the Ebay one, they fitted the metal badge in the wrong place.

I wish your family the best with your father's transition. He sure had good taste in steel guitars!
I've sold about a half dozen guitars on this forum and generally prefer it over ebay if I have a good idea of the guitar's value. Do you have the fourth leg for this one?

Yes the fourth leg is there, I just checked. Must have been the angle of the picture hiding it.

Great guitars those Stringmasters. Case looks non original from what I can see. Can you post the serial number? Located under one of the flip up bridge covers.
