Yes Quilter has something special that sets them apart for sure. I do love Peavey products, and Quilter sounds nothing like a Peavey but I have to say I equally love the Quilter.

I believe that when they designed the Steelaire, their reference was the Fender Twin Reverb. I think that Quilter did a good job. Some time ago I out my Steelaire next to my friends Twin Reverb, and it was so easy to dial in an almost same tone. Different than a Peavey and different than my Evans, but if you are a Fender guy, it might be interesting for you.

Can you give me the settings for your Steelaire? I have one and didn't get any thing like a Twin Reverb sound--went back to my Cube 80. I'd give it another shot if I could find the tone you're getting.

I believe that the settings that got close were: Bass 6, Lo-Mid 3, Hi-Mid 4.5, Treb 6, Reverb 3, Dwell 4, Tone 6.
I didn't write down the values of the Twin Reverb, so it might not be close to how you dialed in your Twin.

Play with your limiter control, Master volume and pre gains and you can get close to that sound.

I think the Quilter sounds closer to Fender than a Peavey in my opinion.

The attached video is me and the ole Quilter struggling to play with a thrown together band last Friday night.

The amps weren't mic'd and the Ipad was about 8 feet away from my amp and these guys played loud as Hell.

Dicky...I couldn't get it, either. The most recent video listed on your Facebook page was June 24. I'd like to hear it if you could direct me to it some other way? Thanks!

I can't explain it. I don't know of another way to link it.

When I click on the link from either my Iphone or Office computer it plays ok.

Only other way would be to go to my FB timeline and view it there as it is open for anyone to watch.

EDIT: I re-entered the link to see it would work for y'all.

I thought some of you might like to hear the Quilter unmic'd and really cranked up. I give up, the computer has won.

It can only be viewed by "Friends". I used my Quilter three times the past weekend. Master was on 6, Ch 1 @7 and Ch 2 @4. No Volume issues.

BTW Dick the first song (MS) usually requires a $100 tip for the band! Very Happy

Jon, did you buy yours locally? I see that South Austin Music is a dealer, wondered if you got it there or if they have any on the floor?

I'm interested in the amp, but reluctant to pull the trigger completely in the dark.

Jon, I got $15 more than I was originally told so that was my tip I guess.
