Thanks Andy!
Rob E G - Robert George Porter was inducted into the Australian Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2014.

He is/was responsible for many people starting steel guitar here, of my generation & older, including yours truly. Below, are 2 of his biggest hits in the day, & my favourites.

Robie is back home in Sydney after spending 42 years in the US music & television industry.

I was privileged to have this album autographed by Robie at his induction into the Hall of Fame. For me, it was a 42 year wait to finally meet my hero. Cool

Rob was on all the variety TV shows when I was a kid. He just about held his own against the rise of Shadows style guitar instrumentals, but once the Beatles and Stones broke, Rob disappeared. I think he became a record producer and engineer. For popular steel guitar in Australia, he was preceded by the great Les Adams.
