Billy Joe Walker Jr. passed away from heart failure down in Texas....He was one of the most recorded guitarists and certainly a monster musician to those lucky enough to have worked with him. I will miss you..... RIP Billy

I used to see him in Oklahoma City in the 70's. He visited Bob Wood's Del City Music often. He was a phenomenal guitar player, and a really nice guy. Years later I learned that he was "the" Billy Walker that I had heard of so often as a player and producer. Seems like he was always listed as the music director on all the country award shows and specials on television. I was surprised that he was the guy I used to see at the music store.

So sad we are losing the great players.
