The power jack in my stroboflip tuner needs to be re-soldered, I think - power cuts out unless you put pressure on it with the plug at just the right angle. Any tips / links on opening it up and fixing it, before I start prying loose the wrong part? Thanks in advance.

PS it is years old so well past the warranty date.

Talk to Sue. It might be cheaper than you think to have them doing it.
They're known to be amazing in customer service.

Jim, there are little rubber plugs covering the screws. Use a needle or straight pin and remove the two plugs bottom left and right of screen. remove the screws. the screen frame will lift from the bottom and unsnap working from bottom to top. Remove the screw at each corner of the keypad cover. You might get the back ones out without taking the cover off. If you have to remove the cover remove the rubber plug on the large section of the hinge and carefully unwind the ribbon connector cable by twisting the screen as you unwind the connector. The key cover will unsnap and you can get to the jack. There are two spacers that you need to be careful that you put them back in when putting it back together. It is not hard, just move slow and be careful. Be sure to check for battery damage. If a battery has leaked in the tuner the spring contacts that connect the batteries in series are very easily corroded and need to be cleaned up. Sue taught me how to open the tuner and how to remove the diodes.

Thanks for the info, Jerry, I will try that.

Lane, their website says minimum $70 + shipping for repairs, so I'll give it a shot myself.
