Hey does anyone make a gauged stainless, cooper, or brass finger pick? Looking for a 0.14 or 0.15 gauge.

That's the reason I use Dunlop picks: the lighter gauges. |

I'm using the Dunlop gauged picks that
David mentioned. I use the 0.14 right now. I see these brass ones at Sweetwater are .225. I may just give them a try. I had a dickin's of a time when i first started out playing both steel, and guitar with using picks. But i eventually could use the light ones. I like to feel the string under my finger. I tried Jeff Newman's picks and sold them, just too heavy. |

The Dunlop .225 picks are easy to shape and very comfortable.
And the price is the lowest there is for such a good pick. _________________ aka "Lucky Kay"--Custom built Rittenberry SD10 3X5, Walker S/S, NV-112, and Hilton Pedal |

Carl..Have been using the brass .025 Dunlops for a number of years, they seem to produce a smoother tone on the unwound strings. |

Pro-Pick, and even Ernie Ball have nice light gauged finger picks. The Ernie Balls are a little different shaped, but are really nice, I may change to using them, and see how they work out. I tried them the first time the other night and was very pleased. As one said, you can feel the strings with them, and gives a lighter touch, which I like. _________________ Zum U-12, Carter SDU-12, Zum Encore, Emmons S-10, Emmons D-10, Nashville 400, Two Peavey Nashville 112, Boss Katana 100, Ibanez DD700, Almost every Lesson Jeff Newman sold. I do stay away from the Dunlop. The part that goes around the finger catches on the strings. They are very comfortable, but for that reason, I don't use them. I ones I mentioned also stay on your finger very good. _________________ Zum U-12, Carter SDU-12, Zum Encore, Emmons S-10, Emmons D-10, Nashville 400, Two Peavey Nashville 112, Boss Katana 100, Ibanez DD700, Almost every Lesson Jeff Newman sold. There are a bunch dunlop brass finger picks on ebay with gauged choices...
But an .018 or .015 in brass will much less rigid than stainless in the same gauge |

I know Jeff, in one of his courses, mentions, about pick. He doesn't recommend Dunlop for the same reason. He also recommend a .025 pick, as they give the best tone. I also know player who use the Dunlops, but few, some only on their index finger. I think the most popular is the National, but really not sure. _________________ Zum U-12, Carter SDU-12, Zum Encore, Emmons S-10, Emmons D-10, Nashville 400, Two Peavey Nashville 112, Boss Katana 100, Ibanez DD700, Almost every Lesson Jeff Newman sold.
