Been playing this 1936 Gibson seven-string, prototype large body EH-150 since 1973. Has a big acoustic and electric tone with 5/8" laminated sides, book matched solid 1/4" top and back and brass rail under the bridge, all weighing in at 12 pounds. Discovered they made another with black binding that the ZZ Top's Billy Gibbon's plays and one more cradling an early aluminum E-150 steel for Alvino Rey
.

Beautiful, fascinating instrument. Check out the placement of the controls.

Yes indeed - one cool-looking guitar!

On a side note, years later, George Barnes worked with Guild to produce a hollow-body standard guitar with no F holes after he got fed up with feedback at gigs.

It has a modern look without the F sound holes. Very clean lines.
