Beard R Model...I got a tricone obsession while this was being built for me...barely played, but I like it better than all my other single-cones (I had a Blackbeard and dobro Model 66)...full, rich tone, this is a good one...with Fishman Nashville pickup.

I changed the sound hole rings for open ones to get a bigger tone with more low end...will include the original screens with the guitar.

More info at:
http://www.beardguitars.com/rmodel

Specs at:
http://www.beardguitars.com/rmodelspecs

Price new is $2,900+$300 for Fishman=$3,200...

Need to let go of it to get $$ for a dream guitar acquisition...

Forum member Ken Pippus and I got together with a Blackbeard, Scheerhorn, Model 66 Dobro, Maple Rayco, and this R Model....and ask Ken, the one that jumped out at both of us was this particular R Model...something about it, full, rich, clear tone...

A couple of mine aren't too shabby, either, but the R is an outstanding guitar.

And you forgot the Clinesmith, which is not very forgettable.

No disrespect to your stable of thoroughbreds, Ken- it was more that the R Model was holding its own in that crowd!

I actually thought it and the (regular, not L size) Scheerhorn shared a lot of soul.

I think that's pretty heady company.
