This is kind of a shot in the dark but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I had my heart set on going to Rob Ickes ResoSummit in Nashville this year, but I missed the call out email because it filed in an odd file in my inbox. That being said it also sold out in 1 hour.I'm on the waiting list but guessing I"m pretty low on there. I live in Alberta Canada. I'm a high level intermediate dobro player and probably a lower level intermediate pedal steel player.

Anyhow, I was looking for a workshop in either Canada or the US between Sept-Dec of this year, or even some intensive one on one instruction for a week or so. I'd really like to use some of my vacation time to work on music and becoming a better player.

It's kind of an odd question because I'm not getting too specific but does anybody have any ideas for me? Thanks!

I apologize if this is in the wrong part of the forum. Perhaps this should have been in "Wanted to buy" or just "Pedal Steel." Not sure.

Hi, Nathan. Besides my various Reso and steel CD courses, I also teach one on one here at my studio, and I've done more than a few "boot camp" style intensive week-long lessons. I'd be glad to work something out with you- we have a beautiful 6 acre farm just perfect for study and relaxation!

Wow that sounds great Mark! I will send you a message when I get a spare moment to see if that's something we could arrange. Thanks very much.

I'd be happy to accommodate- and we can mix up pedal and Reso work!

Mark's instructional materials are great: well thought out and well organized. I suspect face time with him will be very beneficial.

Where in Alberta? Heading back to fish my old stomping grounds in the Southwest corner in a couple of weeks.

I'm further North up in Edmonton. Where are you fishing? Somewhere with a view of the mountains?

I seem to have lost contact with Mark. If there are any other suggestions I'd appreciate it. If not, I might just do a staycation here in Canada and book some Skype lessons.

Thanks!

Hi, Nathan, just saw this and apparently my reply through PM didn't go through, I've sent another. Let me know if that one doesn't show up!

Hi Mark, I didn't know you did boot camps. Please PM with the cost and the dates you can or do, do them. I use to live in Cumming, Ga, Savannah, and worked in Norcross. I think I know about where you are. I would love to be able to do a workshop, where someone can see, and maybe show me what I'm doing wrong. I have been trying for many years to learn, but still have to use tabs. I know the darn, I have play guitar and sang for year. I play all by ear, can't read a note. Let me know.
