This one is for Jerry Overstreet who requested it. Great toe-tappin' tune, Jerry - I put a fair amount of time into this one, but I'm not one to back down from a good challenge!
"Honky Tonk Heart" is off the late Keith Whitley's "Don't Close Your Eyes" CD. Some great C6 sounds here on E9. Use those half-step slides into and out of chords and partial chords to get that Texas Swing Thing going In some places I've tabbed out 4 string grips...all of the notes should work - as Jeff Newman used to say, "just grab a big old wad of strings and have some fun with it!" Corrections and comments always welcome.

Wow! Lots of labor there. Thanks man! Now I got no excuse. Gotta go to work on it now. Great job. Thanks Jeff.
It's great of you to take the time to do this. Guys, this is a fun tune for the dance hall. Also fun just to play along with. Paul has this stuff running up and down falling off the other side, but for some of us mortals, it's not quite so easy |

I'm eager to get to this, but shortly after I made my request I busted up my picking thumb. I've got it super glued back together, so soon as I can wear a thumb pick I'll be on it. |

Thanks for the comments guys - I appreciate it.
And let's be careful out there, Jerry - you only get one picking thumb! |
