My pal Michael Newman on wfmu played Curly's version of Gentle on My Mind.
He said he'd searched for info on the Steel Guitar Record Club, or volume 12 in particular. Wasn't that a Tom Bradshaw project? Do we know anything about the Curly Chalker Gentle cut?

He also played Waylon's cool cut of Bob Dylan's Delia, to the tune of House of the Rising Sun. I assume that's Mooney with a sitar bar?

I do not know anything about Waylon's cut you referred to Lane but I do know about the Curly cut of "Gentle On My Mind." Yes, it is on Tom Bradshaw's produced LP entitled "Steel Guitar Express" that had 14 cuts, all by different artists. These cuts were recorded from 1975 through 1978 and featured Jerry Byrd, Tom Brumley, Herb Remington, Lloyd Green, Sonny Curtis, Buddy Charleton, Maurice Anderson, Hal Rugg, Red Rhodes, Speedy West, Alvino Rey, Bobby Black, & Curly Chalker. There was no volume number on this recording.

Does anybody have a track list for the "Steel Guitar Express Album"? Never heard about that one so far.

Kind Regards, Walter
