Topic: 8 string dobro string width |

Hi I have an 8 string Ted smith fiberglass dobro currently set up with 7 strings because the string width seems too narrow with 8 strings. Are there different size spider bridges or they all the same size?

The bridges can be made any size, BUT make sure the longer bridges do not hit the cover plate opening. Contact Jim Adams (Adams Resophonic guitars) <jameshadams> or call 281-350-4160. He will help you.

I have the string spacing on my 8 string resos set roughly the same as my Fender Dual Pro 8. The idea being to standardise so that swapping from one to the other is easier. Only rough equivalent as resos are fitted with heavier strings.
................Nut.......... Bridge
Beard.......53mm.......66.5mm (Factory set up)
McKenna...55............66.5 (Altered this one. It was manufactured wider)
Fender......55.............66 |
