Marc Maingard's guitars come with some pretty heavy endorsements, from Steven Stills of CSN to famed jazz guitarist Earl Klugh, who all agree that Maingard's work is top notch. Today we have a 2009 Maingard GC for offer with African Blackwood back and sides and Alpine Spruce top. Strum this guitar once, and you'd swear there was an amplifier hidden in the soundhole. Yes: this guitar is that loud, one of the loudest Grand Concerts you're likely to hear. Maingard's build gives the guitar so much projection, and the African Blackwood's crisp, dry timbre, so when these forces combine, the end result is an amazingly clear, strong projection. The low-end has excellent separation and the highs have the perfect amount of sparkle, not too shimmery, not too dull. The curves of this GC are tasteful, and comfortable, as is the Maingard Arm Bevel. This guitar comes with the original custom Hiscox Liteflite Pro II hardshell case.
